Daniel Todes

Daniel P. Todes is Professor of History of Medicine at The Johns Hopkins University. He received his PhD in History and Sociology of Science from the University of Pennsylvania. He specializes in the history of science and medicine in Russia, and is especially interested in the relationship of scientific thought to the broader context in which it is generated. Among the works in which he has addressed these subjects are "Darwin Without Malthus: The Struggle for Existence in Russian Evolutionary Thought", "Pavlov's Physiology Factory: Experiment, Interpretation, Laboratory Enterprise", and "Ivan Pavlov: A Russian Life in Science".
